Student Art Show

Some changes have been made to how the show will be done. We we are going to try to submit some digital work to be displayed on ipads. I will need images (2 to 3 no more) of your best work by next tuesday. You don't need to shoot new pics, you just need to pic a couple of your best and turn them in.

Format: 2048 pixels (longest edge) resolution at 264 pixels per inch (ppi)

While this is not specifically directed to photography this is a great event for Photography Students to attend. You may get a better idea of how Photography fits into the industry and its a chance to meet people from other schools and see what they are doing. Next Assignment: Shutter Speed
We adjust shutter speed to not only to get a proper exposure but also to communicate motion to the viewer. By controlling our shutter speed fast or slow we demonstrate movement in different ways.

2 Photographs

Photo I: Freeze Motion. Demonstrate fast shutter speed by freezing a moving object (no, not a car (or truck, or motorcycle) unless they are doing something more interesting than driving down the road). You will need a lot of light for this.

Photo II: Blur the subject. By choosing a slower shutter speed while shooting a moving subject we can cause our subject to blur across the image. The trick here is to only blur the subject while keeping everything else in the image sharp and clear. (No shooting out the window of a moving car).
